How to Protect a New Couch From Your Cat

It’s been two months since I put them up on a new couch and they worked really well. The adhesive is amazing, didn’t even need the pins. I tried to remove one in a corner and it didn’t damage the material. Overall super happy with them. I would like to see a more dull option, since from certain angles it’s shiny.

Purchased for a new sofa and chairs; these were very easy to install, peel and stick. Very sturdy and stick well to a corduroy/velour material. They are clear and are noticeable especially in daylight but rather this than torn material. Definitely has stopped scratching of nail claws on furniture using cat scratch pole more often. There are a generous amount of pin cushion that are easy to twist into the material once you break through the plastic. Hold the corners in place much better. Would recommend product. Have been on the sofa for almost 3 weeks now and still holding well. Highly recommend. Only wish there were more sheets in package. Good size.

We have a (usually) well behaved cat who unfortunately likes to scratch at our new couch to get our attention. She hasn't done any visible damage yet, so we though we'd try this double sided training tape.Honestly I haven't seen or heard her scratch at our couch once since we put it on, I'm sure she's tried but the tape is doing it's job! I won't lie, it's not the most attractive thing to look at, but neither is a scratched to death couch!Now I just need to figure out how long to keep it on...Would definitely recommend!

I recently got new couches and my cats who are pretty well trained decided to try and scratch it. After browsing and reading all the reviews I went ahead with this couch protector. The sheets are quite durable and my cats did try going around them to scratch but they’ve given up.I do recommend this couch protector for cats.

Awesome product, it saved my new sectional! It's really easy to install if you read the directions first. I've had it on for 3 days and my cats haven't gone near the couch. I was a bit worried at first about cat hair sticking to the outside of the tape but it doesn't very much, and is still a lot better than permanent scratches on the couch.Love the little stickers that come with it too!! I will definitely be buying more when I purchase other new furniture!

This is a great set of plastic furniture protector sheets. It comes with two different sized sheets but you can also cut them to size if needed. This set is smooth on one side and adhesive on the other. It comes with furniture pins and it came with 4 cat paw furniture feet covers which is cute. The plastic sheets stick well to the furniture but I do find they start peeling off fairly quickly, however if you also use the included pins at the corners then the plastic stays on for a long time without needing to replace it. The pins screw in and work on most material except leather, but I also wouldn't use the sticky sheets on leather either as it would likely damage it.I have three cats who leave most of my furniture alone but there is one chair they have taken to lightly scratching and some new chairs that have a padded seat. I put the sheets on the spots they were scratching and they have now stopped scratching both and are sticking to their scratching posts. It is noticeable on the furniture but it doesn't look awful and it's doing the job well. I've ordered other brands of sticky sheets in the past when the cats were kittens but I had to buy the pins separately and the sheets were smaller, this set is much better and comes with everything needed to get the plastic to stay on for extended periods.

I liked everything about this product! I ordered the double sticky tape for my new couch and so far the cats haven't been closed to where the sticky tape is. Not only that, its multipurpose. We have 2 lil goblins that have ripped a couch to shreds, we got a new couch and did not want a repeat of the occurrence. Decided to get this thinking what the hell worst case its a few bucks. This thing works so damn well both the cats don't want to get anywhere near the couch to try and scratch it anymore. Wish we had done this the first time. 100% recommend it. Only real complaint is that it may give you an unwanted waxing if you get stuck to it accidentally.

I really love this product. It works great on our new sofa. We have 4 cats and we've tried alot of different products but we're always dissapointed. I was hoping so much that this would work on my new furniture. My cat Oscar was starting to scratch my lovely new couch and chair and I just couldn't stand it. Yep, it works. It's not rocket science. We have had an older cat for 10 years, who never scratched, I guess we were lucky. Now we've added 2 sibling kittens that are very sweet but very clearly at least 50% demon. They want to turn every object on the planet into confetti. We have combined this fabric tape with what experts call "training" to try to make the kittens scratch less, but, only having had an old cat for 10 years, we might as well be trying to teach the new kittens calculus. We'd heard about products like this and were using packing tape backwards as a type of ghetto solution at first. It seemed to work, so, we got these sheets to try instead. They work. The kittens stopped scratching. Or rather, they stopped scratching our couches and are forced to become more creative in ways they may ruin our house with their adorable little paws and demon blades. The product works perfectly, but a side-effect of using it is that you will forget it's there, and then one day one of the boys is sitting down in shorts, and when they go to stand up it tries to wax their legs smooth. This isn't a failure of the product, it's just a consequence of needing to use it. I hate that we need to use this, but I'm not buying new couches every year either, so, the price for my peace is eternal vigilance.

I wish I had found these sooner. Bought a new couch and my cats were absolutely destroying the arms and sides of it. It didn't matter what I did, they would return and turn the exterior into what looked like a shag carpet, so I needed something to help and... I wish I had found these sooner. The adhesive sticks well, and the guards can be wrapped around corners then held down with furniture pins. They can be trimmed to size and they don't cover the entire couch arm like the cover does so they're far more low profile and easier on the eyes. So far, my cats haven't even tried to scratch them so i'm calling it a win after months of trying alternatives.

These sheets are very easy to use, and clean looking. We got a new couch, and with multiple cats I knew I had to have these at the ready. They adhere well and so far (it's been a week) I don't even need to use the little pins that come with it. They peel easily off the backing and adhere on their own to the couch. I ordered more of these to finish the job. These sheets are good for bigger jobs like a couch, and I like them better than "cat tape" (which can be useful too) because the slick backing means that fur (and people) don't stick them on the side that faces out. I purchased a new couch and was nervous about my cat using it as its new scratch post. The last cat I adopted had the very annoying habit to claw my sofa. (She’s 8 and was mistreated so don’t judge her lol). each time I buy a new couch I buy those . Since one year I have the same couch . First time in the 20 years I have cats. I mean same couch staying exactly same look new . The whole couch is covered . The seatings have faux fur to protect . So can only see the armrest and side of couch have the protection. I had so many couched destroyed! They have cat trees, pads for their nails . They always choose my couch . Very very happy .

I put these on my new couch to prevent the cat from scratching it. They worked like a charm, no more scratching, though he does like to slide his paws over the plastic (without extending his claws). I did use the pins to hold it but I think I could’ve gotten away without them too. My cat did try to bite them at first but after the first day he quickly gave up and moved on to new things

We just bought a new couch and I am trying to save it from one of our naughty cats that likes to scratch. I put a couple sheets on, so far they are sticking great without the little thumb tacks that came with. Im trying to avoid those if I can. The sheets are easy to peel off and stick on. The only furniture protector that has worked to prevent my #@$*(% - little angel, with claws from destroying my new couch. Not only do his claws NOT get through these but I have not had to reposition them or replace them ONCE! They have been up for about 3 months now!

My kitties are fond of scratching upholstered furniture, and had in the past destroyed the sofa in a guest room. I have applied this product to a new sofa, and they do seem to avoid the sticky stuff. Fingers crossed that it continues to be a deterrent.

Bought a brand new sofa and got these right away. They’ve completely deterred the cats from scratching. They don’t stick the best but the pins hold them in place. The only problem is if you catch the pins on your skin or clothes it’ll rip them

Got these to prevent my cat from scratching brand new couch. Then I bought some more when I discovered he was scratching some decorative railing in my house. These work fantastic as my cat does not scratch at these areas any more.

Put them on our new furniture and the little monsters haven’t laid a paw on them. Only complaint is the fabric screws are a bit long and hit the wood frame in some areas resulting in them not seating flush with the guards.

These are easy to apply, not terribly noticeable, and prevent our furniture from getting scratched up when our cat climbs up or claws at the back of it. It has saved our new sectional!

Got a new couch, my cat thinks he's Spider-Man and likes to climb along the bottom as well as claw the sides. Application was easy but there just wasn't enough to cover all my problem areas so I had to leave about 2 inch gaps between some stickers. 3 of the stickers peeled off by the following day. The rest are in place months later still, which I honestly didn't expect. My cat scratches the small gaps I left, which is hilarious, but the actual furniture is holding up where these are applied. Not perfect but the couch would look a lot worse without them.

I had to give it at least one or I couldn’t post this.I was excited to get the product and then horrified to realize that the adhesive pulled off the fabric from my new furniture and changed the texture and the color in the areas that it was adhered to. I tried to very carefully remove all of the plastic that I had put on, cursing myself that I bought it in the first place and now my new furniture doesn’t look so new anymore.
